Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez and Ms. Fritzie Olaguir attended the Technical Assistance on Universal Health Care Local Health System Maturity Levels on Health Promotion Deliverables for the Province of Bohol and Cebu conducted at Sarrosa Hotel in Cebu City last April 5-6.

Representatives from the DOH Regional Office led by its health education and promotion officer, Ms. Bernadine Hayag, visited the Bohol Provincial Health Office headed by Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez and discussed about Last Mile School for the pilot implementation of the Healthy Learning Institutions Program in the province.
Last Mile School are schools that have less than four classrooms, usually makeshift and nonstandard, no electricity, no funds for repairs or new construction projects in the past four years, a travel distance of more than one hour away from the center, and with accessibility only through difficult terrain. These are schools with multi-grade classes, have less than five teachers, and a population of fewer than 100 learners, the majority of whom are indigenous peoples.DOH, Bohol PHO and DepEd shall be working together in the identification, monitoring, and evaluation of the schools with disadvantaged students who do not have sufficient access to quality education during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rabies case investigations were conducted at Barangay Cabangahan in San Miguel last February 17 and at Barangay San Jose in Getafe last February 21, respectively, by the Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Team headed by Ms. Fritzie Olaguir together with the Rabies Prevention and Control Program coordinator, Ms. Polizena Rances.Investigations among key informants for rabies cases serve as an aid for health professionals in the proper diagnosis of cases of animal bites and human rabies, as well as to deliver evidence-based management for patients.”Sa PHO Una Ang Serbisyo”#BuhatAngPasultion
