World Tuberculosis (TB) Day

World Tuberculosis (TB) Day

Each year, we commemorate World Tuberculosis (TB) Day on March 24 to raise public awareness about the devastating health, social and economic consequences of TB, and to step up efforts to end the global TB epidemic. This year’s theme is, “Invest to End TB. Save Lives.” – a slogan that conveys the urgent need to invest resources in order to ramp up the fight against TB and achieve the commitments made by the global community to end this infectious disease. In support to this annual special event, the Bohol Provincial Health Office spearheaded activities, namely: (1) the launching of the Francisco Dagohoy Memorial Hospital TB Center in Inabanga town; (2) the presentation of the Top Performer in BC Enrollment Rate Award, the Top Performer in TB Preventive Rate Award, and an air purifier to the Rural Health Unit of Clarin from DOH VII; and (3) TB counselling and screening, and free PPD testing services were provided to twenty children fifteen years old and below at Cabilao Island in Loon.”Sa PHO Una Ang Serbisyo”#BuhatAngPasultion
